Love Autumn in Seoul

Autumn in Seoul

Autumn is beautiful in every city, but Seoul holds a special place in my heart. There’s something deeply poetic about how people here pause their busy lives to appreciate the fleeting brilliance of the season. As the air turns crisp and the sunlight softens, families, friends, and couples head outdoors—determined not to miss the brief yet breathtaking moment when the leaves burn with color before winter’s cold winds strip the branches bare.

One of my favorite spots to witness this transformation is Namsan, the mountain that rises gracefully from the very heart of the city. Unlike many other mountains, Namsan feels alive in every season, but in autumn it glows. The trails are lined with maple and ginkgo trees, their leaves painted in gold, amber, and crimson. Every step feels like walking through a living painting.

What makes Namsan so special is how it brings together people from all walks of life—tourists capturing the skyline, locals jogging up the slopes, lovers sharing quiet moments, poets scribbling in notebooks, photographers chasing the perfect light. Along the way, you’ll find cozy cafés tucked between the trees, small shops selling warm chestnuts and souvenirs, wooden decks that open to sweeping views, and of course, the famous love locks near the Namsan Tower, glimmering like tiny promises under the autumn sun.

Namsan is more than just a mountain; it’s a meeting point between nature and city life, a place where Seoul breathes. In autumn, when the city slows down just enough to admire its own beauty, Namsan becomes one of the true soul gems of Seoul.
