I’ve always believed that the heart of Seoul isn’t found in guidebooks or trendy spots, but in the quiet corners — the tiny restaurants, hidden cafés, and backstreets that tell their own stories. Hidden Seoul Food began as my way of sharing those discoveries — places I’ve stumbled upon by chance, meals that surprised me, and spaces that capture the city’s soul. This blog is for anyone who loves exploring what’s unseen, tasting what’s forgotten, and finding beauty in the hidden sides of Seoul.

Busha Busha Shabu — A Game Changer for Shabu Lovers 🍲
Busha Busha
5-9 Wangsimni-ro 10-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
This is easily one of the best shabu spots I’ve been to. Honestly, I’ve never been a fan of cooking my own food at the table — dipping, waiting, fishing it out — it always felt like too much work, especially for someone who doesn’t cook. My usual thought has been, Why cook when I’m eating out?
But this place completely changed my mind. The restaurant’s mix of modern and traditional design immediately caught my eye, and I was even greeted by Derpy from Dragon Hunters at the entrance — a quirky and unexpected touch that made me smile.
The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the sake-based broth, especially when set on fire, is rich, aromatic, and full of flavor. The variety of sauces lets you mix and match to your liking, so even someone like me, with zero cooking skills, can’t go wrong.
Overall, it was an excellent experience that actually made me enjoy shabu for the first time — and the prices are surprisingly reasonable, too.
