I’ve always believed that the heart of Seoul isn’t found in guidebooks or trendy spots, but in the quiet corners — the tiny restaurants, hidden cafés, and backstreets that tell their own stories. Hidden Seoul Food began as my way of sharing those discoveries — places I’ve stumbled upon by chance, meals that surprised me, and spaces that capture the city’s soul. This blog is for anyone who loves exploring what’s unseen, tasting what’s forgotten, and finding beauty in the hidden sides of Seoul.

Golden Dragon, Walkerhill Hotel: Chinese Cuisine with a View 🍜🌁
Golden Dragon
Seoul, Gwangjin District, Walkerhill-ro, 177
It had been raining steadily for the past two days, casting a soft, gray haze over the city — the kind of weather I secretly enjoy. On this particular day, I had the added delight of dining with someone special at one of the premium restaurants in Walkerhill Hotel. It was my first visit, and the moment I stepped inside, I was completely taken by the sweeping view of the Han River. I’ve always had a weakness for a beautiful view, and this one instantly won me over.
The Chinese cuisine here is among the finest I’ve ever tasted. From the very start, their signature black bean welcome drink set the tone — unique, refined, and unexpectedly comforting. The service was impeccable, even though we had secured a last-minute reservation in a dining room already buzzing with guests.
There’s a vibrant energy to this place, perhaps because it’s perched high atop one of my favorite mountains, Achasan. I’m already looking forward to returning — not just for the breathtaking view, but to explore more of the menu, which I’m certain holds even more delightful surprises.
