I’ve always believed that the heart of Seoul isn’t found in guidebooks or trendy spots, but in the quiet corners — the tiny restaurants, hidden cafés, and backstreets that tell their own stories. Hidden Seoul Food began as my way of sharing those discoveries — places I’ve stumbled upon by chance, meals that surprised me, and spaces that capture the city’s soul. This blog is for anyone who loves exploring what’s unseen, tasting what’s forgotten, and finding beauty in the hidden sides of Seoul.

Butterfinger Pancakes: Decades of Consistent Deliciousness 🥞✨
Butter Finger Pancakes Cheongdam
11 Seolleung-ro 152-gil, Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul
I’ve been coming to Butterfinger Pancakes for decades, and if there’s one thing I can say with certainty, it’s that their quality has never wavered. When it comes to pancakes, they’re still the best I’ve had — outshining countless other spots I’ve tried over the years. Fluffy, perfectly cooked, and endlessly satisfying, they’re the dish I recommend without hesitation.
Their omelets are also consistently solid, and the salads are fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The ham and potatoes, however, don’t quite live up to the rest of the menu — but with so many hits on the menu, it’s easy to forgive a rare miss.
The interior has that classic American diner vibe — casual, warm, and a bit nostalgic, the kind of place where you can linger over breakfast or brunch without feeling rushed. And whatever you order, don’t skip the fresh-squeezed juice. Bright, tangy, and refreshing, it’s the perfect complement to a hearty meal and adds just the right touch of balance to the indulgence.
After all these years, Butterfinger Pancakes remains a dependable, feel-good destination — a place where the food, atmosphere, and consistency make every visit worth it.
