I’ve always believed that the heart of Seoul isn’t found in guidebooks or trendy spots, but in the quiet corners — the tiny restaurants, hidden cafés, and backstreets that tell their own stories. Hidden Seoul Food began as my way of sharing those discoveries — places I’ve stumbled upon by chance, meals that surprised me, and spaces that capture the city’s soul. This blog is for anyone who loves exploring what’s unseen, tasting what’s forgotten, and finding beauty in the hidden sides of Seoul.

A Perfect Morning by the Sea ☕🌊
Momos Coffee
Busan, Haeundae-gu, Marine city 1-ro, 91
This is truly one of my favorite cafés of all time. With its open, airy atmosphere and breathtaking ocean view, it strikes that rare balance between calm and vibrancy — the kind of place where time seems to slow down just enough for you to breathe. Nestled along the Busan coastline, it’s peaceful yet alive, filled with the quiet hum of conversation, the gentle clatter of cups, and the rhythmic sound of waves just beyond the glass.
The coffee and pastries are consistently excellent — crafted with care, never rushed. Whether it’s a perfectly flaky croissant or a smooth pour-over, everything here feels intentional. It’s one of those cafés where the experience isn’t just about what’s on the menu, but the atmosphere that lingers long after you’ve left.
Today, as I sip on my Gesha Shake-it coffee, the ocean breeze feels noticeably colder than yesterday — crisp, briny, and invigorating. There’s a touch of melancholy in the air, as if this might be the last cool gust before summer’s heavy, humid embrace settles over the city. I find myself savoring not just the coffee’s bright, layered notes, but the moment itself — this fleeting in-between, when spring exhales one last breath before yielding to the heat.
It’s in quiet mornings like this that Busan feels especially alive — reflective yet restless, caught between seasons and tides. And for me, that’s what makes this café so special: it’s not only a place to enjoy good coffee, but a space to pause, observe, and feel the passing of time by the sea.
